Days of Our Lives’ Lauren Koslow Says a Love-Filled Goodbye: ‘I’ll Miss You Forever and a Day’

Our hearts go out to Lauren Koslow (Kate) after her mom passed away “just two months shy of her 100th trip around the sun.” The Days of Our Lives actress paid tribute to her mother on Instagram with photos from throughout her life along with quotes from E.E. Cummings and Maria Popova.

But as sad as her passing was, it sounds like Koslow’s mom left life much as she lived it. “It was an unexpected exit even at her age,” the actress shared, “but that was her style. Milli was one of the most spontaneous, dynamic, adventurous, complicated, passionate, funny and powerful women I’ve ever known.”

And like many women, Milli had countless roles in life, all of which made her the incredible woman she was — “an artist, storyteller, traveler and businesswoman. A mom, grandmother and wife. I’ll miss you forever and a day, but I’m glad you’re reunited with the love of your life. Kiss Daddy for us” Take a look at the beautiful photos Koslow shared and read her full message below.

Thaao Penghlis (ex-Tony) shared “Big hugs,” with his former costar in the comments. “I understand what you’re going through. It will always remain one of your greatest journeys: that in this life you walked together but separately. Much love and great heart.”

“Lauren, my sincerest condolences to you and your family,” Stephen Nichols (Steve) wrote. “What a loving tribute to your darling Mother Milli. You are your mother’s twin and you made her so very proud. I love that you named Emilia (Milli Kate) after her and I’m so happy she got to meet Sistine. Her legacy lives on in you and may the precious moments that you shared together bring you comfort. Sending you love, support, and strength during this most difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.”

And as he said, her mom’s legacy will live forever in the family as Koslow herself is a mom of four and grandmother. Her own mother lived to meet not just her namesake granddaughter, but also her great grandchild. That’s something truly special that few get to experience. Our thoughts are with Koslow and her family as they grieve. No matter when it happens, losing someone you love is never easy.
